Online pind daan at Triveni Sangam, Prayagraj

For families in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and abroad — performed by our pandits in your family's name.

Prepared by the Global Vedic Puja Jyotish team · Pandit: Pandit Shastri Gyan Nidhi Pandey · Updated

Why Prayagraj

Prayagraj is called Tirtharaj, the king of tirths. At the Sangam the Ganga and Yamuna meet the unseen Saraswati, and ancestral rites here are held in special regard — many families follow the sequence of Prayag, Kashi and Gaya for their ancestors.

What we do

  1. Sankalp with the names and gotra you send
  2. Ganga–Yamuna puja at the ghat
  3. Tarpan with water, black sesame and kusha
  4. Pind daan — rice pinds with sesame, honey and ghee
  5. Deepdaan on the river and daan as you choose
  6. Photos shared afterwards; live video or recording if arranged in advance

What we don't do

  • We don't promise outcomes or use fear about doshas.
  • We don't courier ashes across borders — for asthi visarjan see our asthi visarjan page and check your country's rules.

What to send us

  • Your name, gotra (if unknown, Kashyap is used) and relation to the departed
  • Names of the departed and, if known, date/tithi of passing
  • Preferred date, and whether you'd like a live link

Frequently asked questions

Can pind daan be done without travelling to India?

Yes. Traditionally a family member performs it, but when that isn't possible the sankalp can be taken in your name and our pandits perform the rites at the Sangam on your behalf.

Can we watch it live?

A live video link or a recording can be arranged on request. Please ask when booking — it depends on the ghat, crowds, weather and connectivity on the day, so we confirm it rather than promise it.

What details do you need?

The name and gotra of the person taking sankalp, the names of the departed (and relation), the date or tithi of passing if known, and your preferred date.

When is the best time?

Pitru Paksha, any Amavasya, the tithi of the death anniversary, or the Magh month. Pind daan can also be done on other days when needed.

Can a daughter perform or sponsor pind daan?

Family traditions differ. Many families today have daughters take the sankalp; discuss your family's custom with pandit ji when booking.

What does it cost?

From $251. The dakshina depends on the rites chosen (tarpan only, pind daan, Brahmin bhojan, daan) and is confirmed before the date.
