Australia's Indian community has grown quickly, with many young families settling in new estates across western Sydney, Melbourne's west and south-east, Perth's southern suburbs and Brisbane. Busy weekends, long commutes and a shortage of available pandits on popular muhurats mean many families look for another way to keep their rituals.
Our pandits are based in India and conduct pujas live over Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp video. You prepare a small altar at home and the pandit guides each step of sankalp, puja and aarti, explaining it as you go. Rituals traditionally done at a tirth, such as pind daan and asthi visarjan, are performed on your family's behalf at Prayagraj, Kashi, Ayodhya or Mathura-Vrindavan and shown to you live.
Smoke alarms are mandatory in Australian homes, and many families live in apartments or townhouses with strata by-laws. Our smoke-free havan lets the pandit perform the fire havan at a tirth on camera while you offer ahutis at home without flame or smoke, or with just a ghee lamp. We have no office in Australia and do not visit homes.

Practical notes for Australia
- Samagri is easy to find in Harris Park and Parramatta in Sydney, Foster Street in Dandenong and the Tarneit and Point Cook shopping strips in Melbourne, Cannington and Canning Vale in Perth, and Sunnybank in Brisbane. We send a checklist in advance.
- Working smoke alarms are required by law in Australian homes, and strata buildings often have alarms linked to the fire brigade, with call-out fees. Never disable or cover an alarm; choose a smoke-free havan or a ghee-lamp puja.
- Sydney and Melbourne are 4h30m ahead of IST in winter (AEST) and 5h30m ahead during daylight saving (first Sunday of October to first Sunday of April). Brisbane stays 4h30m ahead all year, and Perth stays 2h30m ahead.
- Because Australia is ahead of India, early-morning pujas there fall before dawn in India. Late mornings, afternoons and evenings in Australia suit our pandits best.
- Summer brings total fire ban days in many areas, when any outdoor fire, including a garden havan, may be prohibited. The smoke-free havan is a safe year-round choice.
- Please do not put ashes, flowers, murtis or puja offerings in rivers, beaches or the ocean without state or council approval. We arrange visarjan and asthi visarjan at a tirth in India.
- School holidays and long weekends such as Easter, the King's Birthday and the September–October break fill up quickly for Griha Pravesh and sanskars; book two to three weeks ahead.
Festivals in Australia time
- Diwali falls in October or November, during Australian spring and daylight saving. An evening Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja in Sydney or Melbourne is mid-afternoon in India, which is easy to schedule.
- Navratri usually overlaps the spring school holidays, so families can join a daily online Durga Saptashati Path together.
- Maha Shivratri falls in late summer (February–March), often in the fire season; an indoor Rudrabhishek with no open flame avoids fire-ban concerns.
- Pitru Paksha in September–October is when many families honour ancestors; pind daan can be performed at Prayagraj or Kashi in your names and shown to you live during your afternoon.
- Because Australia is ahead of India, a tithi can begin on a different local date; muhurat is calculated for your own city.

Frequently asked questions
Can a pandit come to our home in Sydney or Melbourne?
No. Our pandits are in India and we do not offer home visits in Australia. Pujas are conducted live by video, or performed at a tirth in India on your behalf.
What is the best time for an online puja from Australia?
Late morning to evening works best. Sydney and Melbourne are 4h30m ahead of IST (5h30m during daylight saving), Brisbane 4h30m ahead all year, and Perth 2h30m ahead, so very early Australian mornings are before dawn in India.
Our apartment's smoke alarm is linked to the fire brigade. Can we do havan?
Yes, with our smoke-free havan. The pandit performs the fire havan at a tirth in India on camera while you offer ahutis without any flame, or you light only a ghee lamp. Please never disable or cover an alarm.
Can we do a garden havan instead?
Check your local fire rules first, as total fire ban days and council restrictions can prohibit outdoor fires. The smoke-free havan avoids this and can be done indoors at any time of year.
Can you do Griha Pravesh for a newly built house?
Yes. Many families in new estates do Griha Pravesh and Vastu Shanti online before moving in. The pandit guides each step over video, and the muhurat is calculated for your city.
Where can I buy samagri in Australia?
Indian grocers in Harris Park, Parramatta, Dandenong, Tarneit, Point Cook, Cannington, Canning Vale and Sunnybank usually stock everything. We send a checklist and suggest substitutes.
How is asthi visarjan arranged from Australia?
We arrange asthi visarjan at Prayagraj or Kashi in your family's names. Please ask your funeral director about the paperwork for carrying or sending ashes to India. The ritual can be shown to you live.
Are muhurats based on Australian or Indian time?
For pujas in your home, muhurats are calculated for your Australian city. Rituals at a tirth follow the tirth's local Panchang, and we tell you when to join.
Can our parents in India join the puja?
Yes. One video link can be shared with family in India and elsewhere, so everyone takes part in the sankalp.
What language does the pandit speak?
Mantras are in Sanskrit, with explanations in Hindi or English as you prefer.
