Singapore's Hindu community includes long-established Tamil families and many North and West Indian professionals who have moved for work. Families often live in HDB flats or condominiums and keep busy schedules, and pandits for North Indian rituals such as Satyanarayan Katha or a Sanskrit Rudrabhishek can be booked out on popular dates.

Our pandits are based in India and conduct pujas live over Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp video. The pandit guides sankalp, puja and aarti step by step and explains each part. Rituals traditionally done at a tirth, such as pind daan and asthi visarjan, are performed on your family's behalf at Prayagraj, Kashi, Ayodhya or Mathura-Vrindavan and shown to you live.

With compact flats, smoke detectors and strict rules on open burning, an indoor fire havan is often impractical. Our smoke-free havan has the pandit perform the fire havan at a tirth on camera while your family offers ahutis at home without flame or smoke, or with only a ghee lamp. We have no office in Singapore and do not visit homes.

How smoke-free havan works · How online puja works

Practical notes for Singapore

  • Samagri is easy to find around Serangoon Road, Tekka Centre and Mustafa Centre in Little India, and in Indian shops in Tampines, Jurong and Woodlands. We send a checklist in advance.
  • Newer HDB flats and many condominiums have smoke detectors, and condominium by-laws often restrict open flames. Never cover or disable a detector; choose our smoke-free havan or a ghee-lamp puja.
  • Singapore is 2h30m ahead of IST all year, with no daylight saving. Almost any time from 9 am to 10 pm Singapore time works for our pandits.
  • Weekday evenings after work and weekend mornings are the most practical slots. Long weekends around public holidays fill up first.
  • Open burning is regulated in Singapore. Please do not burn samagri outdoors or at void decks; the smoke-free havan avoids this.
  • Do not place ashes, flowers or puja offerings in reservoirs, canals or the sea except where authorities permit. We arrange visarjan and asthi visarjan at a tirth in India.
  • Many families share the link with relatives in India, where the time difference is small, so the whole family can join at a reasonable hour.

Festivals in Singapore time

  • Deepavali is a public holiday in Singapore, so families often have the day free for Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja; an evening puja in Singapore is late afternoon to early evening in India.
  • Navratri falls in September–October; a nightly online Durga Saptashati Path fits after office hours.
  • Maha Shivratri falls in February–March; an online Rudrabhishek allows the family to join at home on a working day.
  • Pitru Paksha in September–October is a common time for pind daan at Prayagraj or Kashi, performed in your family's names and shown live with only a 2h30m difference.
  • Because Singapore is only slightly ahead of India, festival dates usually match Indian calendars, but we still confirm local muhurat.

Pind daan, tarpan and asthi visarjan are done at the tirth itself, so families in Singapore join live while pandit ji performs them at the Sangam. See pind daan at Prayagraj and asthi visarjan.

Frequently asked questions

Can a pandit come to our HDB flat?

No. Our pandits are in India and we do not offer home visits in Singapore. Pujas are conducted live by video, or at a tirth in India on your behalf.

What time works best from Singapore?

Singapore is 2h30m ahead of IST with no daylight saving, so almost any time between 9 am and 10 pm Singapore time works.

Our condo does not allow open flames. Can we do havan?

Yes, with our smoke-free havan: the pandit performs the fire havan at a tirth in India on camera while you offer ahutis without flame. If permitted, you can also use a single ghee lamp.

Where can I buy samagri in Singapore?

Little India, including Serangoon Road, Tekka Centre and Mustafa Centre, has everything on our checklist. Indian shops in heartland estates also stock basics.

Can you do Griha Pravesh for a new BTO flat?

Yes. The pandit guides the entry, kalash sthapana and Vastu puja over video. Muhurat is calculated for Singapore.

Do you perform South Indian rituals?

Please tell us your family's tradition (for example Tamil, Telugu or North Indian) and what you need, and we will say honestly whether we can perform it as your family expects.

Can we do Satyanarayan Katha on a weekday evening?

Yes. The katha and puja usually take about one and a half to two hours, and an evening after work suits the small time difference with India.

How is asthi visarjan arranged from Singapore?

We arrange it at Prayagraj or Kashi in your family's names. Please check with your funeral service provider about documents for carrying or sending ashes to India. The ritual can be shown live.

Can family in India join?

Yes. Share the video link; with only a 2h30m difference, relatives in India can easily join.

What language will the pandit use?

Mantras are in Sanskrit, with guidance in Hindi or English.
