Planning from the US

Coordinate travel dates with us first so a pandit is available when the ashes arrive. Keep the death certificate and cremation certificate with the ashes when travelling, and check airline and customs guidance in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Can you do asthi visarjan if we can't come to India?

If a family member or trusted person can bring the ashes (asthi) to India, our pandits can receive them and perform the visarjan with full rites. We don't arrange international shipping of ashes — please check your country's and the airline's rules if you plan to carry them.

Where is it performed?

At the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj or on the ghats of Kashi (Varanasi), as your family prefers.

Can the family watch?

A live video link or recording can be arranged on request; we confirm it when booking.

Is shraddh done at the same time?

Often yes — many families combine asthi visarjan with tarpan and pind daan. See our pind daan page.

What does it cost?

From $101. We confirm the exact dakshina before the date.
