The New York metro area is home to one of the largest Indian-American communities in the country, with families spread from Queens and Long Island to Edison, Jersey City and Princeton. Many households here run on tight schedules — long commutes, hybrid work and children's weekend activities — so online pujas over Zoom have become a practical way to keep traditions without hunting for a temple slot.
Practical notes for New York & New Jersey
- Weekend evening slots are popular; book Griha Pravesh and Satyanarayan dates 2–3 weeks ahead.
- For apartments with sensitive smoke detectors, we guide a low-smoke havan (small ghee lamp, no open kund) or a puja without havan.
- Muhurats are calculated for New York sunrise, not Indian time, so festival dates match your local Panchang.
- ET is 10h30m behind IST in winter (9h30m during US daylight saving time) — morning pujas in New York fall in the Indian evening, which suits our pandits well.
Online via Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp video. Online pujas from $51 — see pricing.
