Your Vedic chart workspace

Ten views of one chart — switch tabs to explore. North & South Indian styles. Calculated privately in your browser.

What each tab shows

Lagna (D1)
The main birth chart: the rising sign at your birth and the sign each planet occupied. Most readings start here.
Navamsa (D9)
The ninth-division chart, read alongside the Lagna chart for marriage, partnership and the underlying strength of each planet.
Bhava Chalit
The same planets placed by house cusps rather than whole signs; it shows when a planet near a sign edge acts through the next house.
Chandra
The chart drawn with the Moon's sign as the first house. Daily rashifal and Sade Sati are read from here.
Gochar
Today's planetary positions over your chart, showing which houses current transits activate.
Details and Drishti
A planet table with sign, degree, nakshatra and house, and the Vedic aspects (drishti) each planet casts.
Dasha
Your Vimshottari mahadasha and antardasha periods with dates, so you can see which planet's period is running.
Yogas & Doshas and Ashtakavarga
Common combinations such as Gaja Kesari or Mangal dosha found in the chart, and the Ashtakavarga point totals for each sign.

Births outside India

A chart is only as good as the birth time behind it. For a birth in the USA, UK, Canada or Australia, enter the time exactly as the hospital or local clock recorded it; the workspace applies the time zone and any daylight-saving rule that was in force on that date. If you are not sure of the time, the birth-time check shows how much the Lagna would move.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to make my chart?

Your date of birth, the time shown on the local clock when you were born, and the town or city of birth. The workspace looks up the time zone and daylight saving for that place and date.

North Indian or South Indian chart – which should I use?

Both show the same positions. The North Indian (diamond) chart keeps houses fixed and moves the signs; the South Indian (square) chart keeps signs fixed. Use the one your family or astrologer is used to – you can switch at any time.

Is my birth data stored anywhere?

The chart is calculated in your browser, and the birth details are saved on your own device so other tools can reuse them. You can clear them from the birth details form.

Why is my Vedic chart different from my Western sign?

Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, which is currently about 24 degrees behind the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology, so most planets shift back by one sign.

Can someone read the chart for me?

Yes. You can book a one-to-one consultation by video with our Jyotish Acharya in English or Hindi, at a time that suits your time zone.
