AWST --:--IST --:--
Perth's Indian community has grown steadily, with many families in the southern suburbs of Canning Vale, Harrisdale, Piara Waters, Southern River and Willetton, as well as Baldivis, Ellenbrook and the northern coastal estates. Many came for work in mining, engineering, healthcare and IT, and some work fly-in fly-out rosters that make planning a puja on a fixed date harder. Because Perth is relatively isolated from other Australian cities, finding a pandit free on a particular muhurat can take effort. Our pandits are based in India and conduct pujas live over Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp video. Perth is only two and a half hours ahead of India and does not use daylight saving, so scheduling is straightforward all year: a 10 am puja in Perth is 7:30 am in India. The pandit explains each step in Hindi or English, and relatives in India can join on the same link. Rituals traditionally done at a tirth, such as pind daan and asthi visarjan, are performed on your family's behalf at Prayagraj, Kashi, Ayodhya or Mathura-Vrindavan and shown to you live. For homes with hard-wired smoke alarms, and during long fire seasons, we offer a smoke-free havan: the pandit performs the fire havan live at a tirth in India while your family offers ahutis at home with no flame or smoke, or with only a ghee lamp. We have no office in Australia and do not make home visits.
Practical notes for Perth
- Indian grocers in Cannington, Canning Vale and Morley stock samagri; we send a checklist in advance.
- Perth is 2h30m ahead of IST all year with no daylight saving, so slot times never shift.
- FIFO workers can book around their roster; give us your swing dates and we will find a muhurat that fits.
- Fire seasons and total fire bans in WA can restrict outdoor fires; use the smoke-free havan indoors and never disable an alarm.
- Do not place ashes or offerings in the Swan River or the ocean; we arrange visarjan at a tirth in India.
Online via Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp video. Online pujas from $51 — see pricing.
