When do families consider this puja?

  • Proposals come but stop at the last stage, again and again
  • The kundli shows Mangal dosha, or Saturn, Rahu or Ketu linked to the 7th house
  • A long Saturn or Rahu period (dasha) is running at marriageable age
  • Kundli matching repeatedly fails on the same points
  • The family simply wants to begin the search with a blessing

What can the family do at home?

  • Monday: offer water to a Shivalinga and chant 'Om Namah Shivaya' 108 times; many girls also keep the Solah Somvar vrat.
  • Thursday: Vishnu or Brihaspati worship with yellow flowers and chana dal; some keep a Thursday fast.
  • Recite the Katyayani mantra or Parvati Mangal stotra daily, as your family tradition suggests.
  • Keep an up-to-date biodata and widen the search; the puja supports the effort, it does not replace it.

What should you tell the pandit at the sankalp?

Give the full name, gotra, date, time and place of birth of the person waiting to marry, and say the wish plainly: 'for the removal of obstacles to a suitable, happy marriage.' Mention any dosha already found in the chart.

Frequently asked questions

Which puja is best for marriage delay?

There is no single best puja. If the chart shows Mangal dosha, Mangal Dosh Nivaran is the traditional choice; if several planets are involved, Navagraha Shanti; Rudrabhishek suits any chart as a prayer to Shiva and Parvati. A chart reading helps choose.

Does a puja guarantee marriage within a fixed time?

No. Anyone promising marriage in a fixed number of days is overstating it. Families perform these pujas to seek blessings and remove obstacles while continuing the search.

Can parents do the puja on behalf of their son or daughter?

Yes. Parents commonly take the sankalp in their child's name. The child joining the video call is good but not required.

Can the puja be done online if we live abroad?

Yes. Our pandit performs it live on video from India and the family follows along at home with a samagri list we send in advance; timings are given in your local time and IST.

Which day is best to start?

A Monday or a Tuesday (for Mangal) in Shukla Paksha is common; the pandit checks the panchang for your city before confirming a muhurat.

Do we need the birth time?

It helps, because the 7th house and dasha depend on it. If it is unknown, the puja can still be done with name and gotra.
