This page explains how Global Vedic Puja Jyotish prepares the information on this website: the puja guides, festival and panchang times, horoscopes and the free astrology tools, and what we do when something is wrong.

Who writes the content

Pages are written and maintained by the Global Vedic Puja Jyotish team. Descriptions of puja procedure (vidhi), samagri and sankalp follow the tradition practised by our pandits, Pandit Shastri Gyan Nidhi Pandey and Pandit Shastri Upendra Pandey. We describe what a puja is and how it is traditionally performed; we do not present opinions as scripture.

Every page is edited and reviewed before it goes live. Calculated values (times, charts, dates) come from the site's own code, described below, never from guesswork.

Sources

Puja and ritual pages draw on the classical and devotional texts that each ritual is traditionally based on, and name them where relevant: for example the Sri Rudram of the Yajurveda for Rudrabhishek, the Durga Saptashati of the Markandeya Purana, the Ramcharitmanas for Sundarkand Path, and the Garuda Purana and dharma-shastra tradition for shraddh and pind daan. Where practice differs between regions or families, we say so and suggest following your own family tradition.

Astrology pages follow the Parashari tradition. Where a popular idea is not found in the oldest classics such as Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (Kaal Sarp yoga is one example), the page says so.

How times and charts are calculated

Planet positions are computed with the open-source astronomy-engine library (apparent geocentric positions of date). Sidereal positions use the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, including nutation. Rahu and Ketu use the mean node by default. Houses in the birth chart are whole-sign from the Lagna, with a Bhava Chalit view for reference.

Panchang elements are calculated for the visitor's chosen place and time zone: tithi from the Moon–Sun elongation in 12° steps, nakshatra and yoga from sidereal longitudes, karana in 6° steps, and sunrise and sunset from the Sun's rise and set at that location. Choghadiya, Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika divide the day (sunrise to sunset) and night into eight equal parts using the standard tables. Vrat and festival dates follow the usual rules for which tithi prevails (for example the tithi at sunrise for Ekadashi, Pradosh Kaal for Diwali Lakshmi Puja, Nishita Kaal for Maha Shivratri and Janmashtami). Dashas use the Vimshottari system and kundli matching uses Ashtakoot (36 guna) matching.

Results depend on the accuracy of the birth details and on the conventions chosen, so other software or a local panchang may differ by a few minutes. Where possible we compare our festival and muhurat times with published panchang times before a page goes live. For a muhurat that matters to you, pandit ji confirms the time for your city before the puja.

Review and updates

New pages are checked before publishing for factual accuracy, working links and correct dates. Pages with dates (festival calendars, weekly rashifal, transit outlooks) are updated as those dates change; the weekly rashifal is generated from planetary transits and can be edited by our pandit.

English and Hindi pages are written for each language. Japanese pages are prepared separately and may be refined over time. Other languages in the language menu use Google Translate and are not reviewed by us.

No guaranteed outcomes

Puja is a religious practice performed sincerely and according to tradition to seek blessings. We never promise a specific result, and astrology readings and tools are for guidance, self-reflection and education. Nothing on this website is medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice, and a puja or reading is never a substitute for professional care.

We publish only real reviews from people who agreed to share them, and we do not show ratings, credentials or prices that we cannot stand behind.
